「７人の侍」と「赤ひげ」

黒沢明監督の映画をはじめて見たのは、イギリス留学の最初の年。
私が小学生の時に黒沢監督が亡くなって、その時の特番でみた「７人の侍」というタイトルだけは知っていたので気になっていたんですが、あんまり日本でお目にかかる機会がなかったのです。

その当時、大学の図書館のビデオ鑑賞コーナーで観たと思うんですが、すっごい集中力でみたのを覚えてます！ふだんも集中したり考え事をしていると、全く回りが見えなくなることがあるですが、この時の３時間は完全に日本のその時代にトリップ。はっと我に返って、現代のしかもイギリスにいる自分にびっくりしました。（回り一人も日本人おらへん！）

こんな監督魂と役者魂がつまりにつまった作品があったのかー！わー！っとなって、黒沢映画のDVDを買い始めました。
日本よりイギリスの方が手に入りやすかったし、値段も安かったっていうのはちょっと残念ですよね。いまだにロンドンのNFT(National Film　Theatre)という素晴らしい映画館では黒沢特集とかバンバンやっているのに、日本ではあまり見かけないんですもん。

I hadn't seen any of Akira Kurosawa's films before I moved to England. I knew that Kurosawa represented Japanese films in the world, but there weren't any chance to see the actual films while I was in Japan.It's really a shame that such great films aren't appreciated much in general in Japan.

I remember I was stunned after watching "Seven Samurai"at uni's library. Kurosawa's uncompromising attitude towards work definitely inspired me, and showed me the way I should be as a creator.(yet I'm so not self-diciplined and I do compromise things too often!)


「生きる」「蜘蛛巣城」「酔いどれ天使」「野良犬」

安いと言っても高いので、ちびちび集めていたのですが、プラハで友達と歩いていて、突然見つけた激安本＆DVDショップ。そこには黒沢作品がずらーっとあって、しかもお値段約２００円。全部買い！もちろん字幕もタイトルもチェコ語（笑）何が書いてあるかさっぱりでしたけどね！
（音声は日本語なので問題ないですけどね）

最近は忙しくて、なかなか３時間の映画をじっくりゆっくり観れない。
今度お茶とクッキーを供に「７人の侍」でも観たいですなぁ〜。

These are Czech DVDs. I found them in a discount book & DVD shop in Prague on the last day of my trip there! They were just over a pound.
I snatched and bought them in seconds!(With a bit of screech! yay!)

I haven't got much time to spend 3 hours for a film now.
I love to sit with a cuppa tea and some biscuits and watch Seven Samurai on a rainy day...mmm...would be lovely!
